TutorHive was founded in 2020 by Bapi Indrakumaran and Rushab Shah with a simple but powerful aim: to maximise the effectiveness of learning by bringing like-minded students and educators together. In February 2026, TutorHive entered a new chapter and transitioned into a franchise model, now led by CEO Reeya Patel.

Reeya brings over eight years of experience in the education sector. She studied at the University of Cambridge and holds a degree from UCL. Her teaching journey began in an in-person private tuition centre, where she taught English up to GCSE level, supported SEND students, and helped prepare pupils for grammar school entrance exams. This hands-on classroom experience gave her a deep understanding of the diverse challenges students face and the importance of personalised, compassionate teaching.

In early 2024, Reeya joined TutorHive as a tutor, teaching both online and in person, before moving into operational leadership later that year. Since then, she has played a key role in growing TutorHive into what it is today and officially became CEO in February 2026.

As a private tutor herself, Reeya truly understands what students, parents and tutors need. She has experienced first-hand the importance of clear communication, high-quality teaching, fair pay for tutors, and a supportive learning environment for students. This insight shapes TutorHive’s approach today - ensuring lessons are engaging for students, transparent for parents, and professionally rewarding for tutors.

Our approach to education is built on one core belief: additional education should be accessible, effective and enjoyable. We aim to remove barriers to high-quality tutoring by combining excellent educators with smart technology and support.

At the heart of TutorHive is our unique Hive-Matching Algorithm, which pairs students and tutors based on hobbies and interests, learning styles, and teaching styles. This personalised approach leads to stronger relationships, better engagement, and improved learning outcomes. The algorithm currently achieves a 93% student–tutor matching success rate, helping students connect with tutors they genuinely learn well with.
